ABOUT 

Love is a Sign is based around the talents of inner west signwriter, Ann Woo.

​

Growing up in Sydney, Ann felt she had her feet in two different cultures: raised in a traditional Chinese household where only Cantonese was spoken, while watching Neighbours and roaming her local neighbourhood on her bike with her friends. As a signwriter, Ann's work is influenced by the same two cultures. 

 

Ann's focus is on traditional signwriting methods. She prides herself on simple, yet effective, layout and design.

 

Ann's love of signwriting began in her school days, spending hours creating the bold signs in her parents Chinese restaurant. Now she collaborates with some of Sydney's best signwriters and well-known mural artists.

 

Ann holds a Certificate III in Signage & ​SOA in Traditional Signwriting, Pictorials & Gilding from Sydney TAFE.
